Never Said It Would Be Easy

Never Said It Would Be Easy

Key point: Anything that’s worth blood, sweat, tears & hard work is worth doing. Period. The biggest thing is to start at step 1 – telling yourself in your mind, heart & soul that whatever you’re about to undertake – will NOT be easy. It will not be quick. It will not be a walk in the park. It will not be fun. The only thing it will be  – is right.

To simply think that whatever you are about to undertake will be easy, simple makes the entire process, journey & process tougher in the future. Life is filled with challenges, obstacles & hurdles. That’s not any different from whatever task, adventure or project you’re about to undertake.

Simply Put: You WILL have problems.

We always hope that whatever we want to do will be easy. That it will be easy to do; easy to think; easy to tackle; easy results; easy work; easy life. So, if you’re expecting your journey to be easy, I’ll tell you know that the disappointment, frustration & anxiety from all these challenges will consume you, throw you off &  make you actually believe that nothing can be done. If you even remotely think that your task or project was going to be easy, you will naturally be oblivious to any type of problem that will stand in your way & will in turn put you in a position of vulnerability & re-questioning your innate abilities to make things happen!

Honestly, if everything was easy – what fun would there be. The truth is that you will go through the trenches, through challenges, through barbwire – all of which you will have to tackle & face on your own. You will have to think on your own. Figure it out on your own & overcome on your own. Yes, you will have support & people rooting you on from the sidelines, but they won’t do the work for you. It’s all you. Plan to be faced with the most challenging difficulties; plan to be faced with tears, rejection & failure. Plan to have sleepless nights, working long hours & continuous, arduous, strenuous & bone aching practicing. When you plan for it….it’s easier to face them, because your planned & prepared for them.

Fully expect to ride the craziest roller coaster.

Anticipate problems. Anticipate storms. Anticipate challenges.

But as much say you anticipate them, prepare yourself. Challenge yourself. Get into beast mode. Tell yourself that you are tough, resilient, strong, confident, tenacious, passionate, motivated, built strong to face any issues that will stand in your way.

Tell yourself that you will fail, but that you will rise. Tell yourself that you will figure out the solutions to the problems you face. Tell yourself that you will have to face the hard truth on certain things you want to ignore. Tell yourself that you are an executioner, finisher & producer. You get shit done! How, when, why, where – it doesn’t matter. You get it done.

There is always a danger of managing expectations. When you expect easy, guards go down, attitude becomes relaxed; motivation become complacent; passion is on cruise control; results are simply just okay.

When you expect things will be challenging & difficult, you’re always on guard; you don’t sleep; you constantly think of becoming better; you make things happen; your vision is clearer; your finger is on the pulse; you become creative & engaged; you roll your sleeves up.

Get my drift! Don’t expect life to be easy. Expect that you’re tough enough to simply figure it out & make shit happen.Tell yourself that you are #1 on the 3 types of people in this world.

I believe in happy ever afters, whether they’re in books or life. I believe that the world is an occasional scary place, one where we need to carve out caves of safety. I believe in the power of the human spirit. I believe it’s a sin to be bored in a world filled with information, beauty, and fascinating things around us. I believe in making a positive difference – everyday – in the lives of everyone I meet. No judgements. No ego. No expectations. Making a difference in just ONE life means that ONE life made better. God Bless.

I first met Asif on Twitter. I had just walked away from one of the worst car shopping experiences I'd ever had (a Kia dealership) and *tweeted* it. Very soon after I received a tweet back from this "Asif Premji" guy. "Sorry to hear your car buying experience wasn't more positive - what are you looking for?"

This was the first of many messages which has lead to not only the purchase (six months later) of a new Honda Civic Si for my wife but a professional and loyal relationship with Asif and his team.

There is outstanding customer experience and then there is the unexpected and appreciated *Asif* level of customer experience.

I would not hesitate to do or refer business with Asif and his team. By far one of the most enjoyable and confident car buying experiences in my lifetime.

At Okotoks Honda I witnessed, "I actually give a $&@# about my customer", not just in words but in every day actions, long before I purchased a care and ever since. This is what I would call, Integrity in ACTION. It's not about the one off sale for them, Asif and his team truly understand the lifetime value of a single customer.

If you're going to buy a Honda, it's well worth the trip to Okotoks and buy from anyone on Asif's team
