Results Are Guaranteed. Conclusions and Perceptions Aren’t

This past month, let alone the beginning quarters of 2016 has resulted in many observations, realizations and A-Ha moments.
Moments that have resulted in me determining the importance of life and things we can and cannot control.

Which leads me to another A-ha moment.
Business has been defined successful when results are met and profitability is achieved. Furthermore, a business’ survival is based solely on people, who work hard to achieve results which benefits the organization in profitability, brand awareness and success.

Yet, the challenge I found is that RESULTS are typically an OUTCOME from our created CONCLUSIONS and PERCEPTIONS.

Think about it, we work hard everyday – life and in business. We are formed to follow process, policies, regulations, targets etc…but in practicing those elements, the results are nothing more than the idle position and location of those processes at any given time. But what we can dissect from these policies and procedures are this:
1. How efficient, effective and accurate we are with the process, policies and regulations are typically made from our own lenses. We always believe we do a damn good job, where others’ perception could be different.
2. That perception from our lenses vs others is based on; what works and what doesn’t work —> which leads to a successful or unsuccessful outcome.

My A-Ha Moment: Pure & true results will always indicate the end position rather than releasing a feeling about that position. So if we were to follow each policy and procedure – it would indicate a successful term at the end of everything. However, the actual feeling of success could be dependent upon the perceptions and conclusions made through our own lenses’ and the eyes of others. Therefore, enforcing the fact that the result is always guaranteed. But the released feeling is quite opposite.
